Default My latest obsession, $25 micro helicopters

Dpdsurf got one of these $25 Syma micro heli's from Amazon as a gift from a secret santa at work, said he went home flew it and immediately bought 4 of them. He told me about them so I bought two of the Syma S107G's which have been an absolute blast and seem to be indestructible. Was browsing Amazon for other models and came across the plastic bodied scale heli's so I bought 4 of them, the Black Hawk UH-60, Apache AH-64, Mini Chinook and the Marine Cobra.

These are so damn easy to fly so I wanted to see if I could fly them with one hand and shoot pics of them with my other hand.

Those are cool! My son spent the last of his Christmas money on one of those in the top pic (they were around $40 at Hobbytown USA here). Here's a tip...they're not only not indesctructable if you're in the unheated man-cave and it's about 20 degrees, the plastic landing gear is downright fragile (well, duh! :p ),as I found out when there was a glitch (that's my story ) and it landed off power from about 4' high...I shoulda had more brains...small plastic bits,20 degrees,LOL,but they had the part in stock (was $5) and it was a quick/simple fix.

You're absolutely right though, these things are addicting and pretty easy to learn to fly (and land :P),he loves his,we just don't take it out there to fly it when it's below 45-50 degrees F (not really enough room in the house for him yet,but he's getting better)

Wow, those are cool!

Need? No.

Want? Yes.

Always liked the Chinook, what kind of payload can it lift?

one of our tool guys had a couple of the chinook, one of the guys in the shop bought one. they do fly real easy. amd incredibly well for the price. thing would hover great and turn on a dime. keep it inside though. doesnt take much of a breeze to carry it away.

My daughter bought me the cheapo Protocol heli (no gyro) for Christmas. It doesn't have a gyro so it is limited, but I consider it a "gateway heli".... I just ordered the $24 Syma S107G two days ago

I have the big chinook. I think it's easier to fly than the single blade ones. But I still have difficulty controlling mine.

I've been flying the Hobby People CX 200 (much like your fist pic) since X-Max, great little copter that's super easy to fly.
