I've been checking out the Traxxas slicks on the 'bay and thinkin' 'bout tryin' a pair. The Funny Car slicks show to be 3.3-in (84mm) and the XO-1 rears show just over 4-in. tall. The XO's are rated to 115-mph or so, but the Funny's are speed rated too, I'm sure. Both are a bit pricey, but claim to be sticky tread. And wheels might be a hitch. The Funny's seem to be about the same size as the 1/8 Model tires you're using, might be something worth considering.
I just haven't talked myself into pulling the trigger .... for a different look.

The slicks I have on the LRW are p/n D5550 Goodyear knockoffs, 3 3/4 in diameter and about 1.5 w. The Traxxas set on the Vette is 4 1/4" by about 1 7/8" wide. Both compounds feel about the same. I roughed up the D5550's and tried a little WD40 which did soften them up. I went with the D5550's due to the height, I knew the Traxxas set would be to tall for the LRW build. Proportionately they look pretty spot on, the Traxxas set even with the 1/8 scale Vette body still look a bit tall, but worked out OK visually. I hadn't thought about the XO's for a slick choice, I'll have to look into them.

Here is a link to a set of the D5550's I found on eBay:

Almost done, getting ready for a few tests tomorrow. Got my box of #exclusiverc #thescaleking accessories, and it was like a mini Xmas! Got the cool Kirkey seat, Simpson harness the badass Monster tach/shift light for the dash and mounted them up tonight. Also during my research the interior details - photos, were very few and far between. The one I found showed the drivers seat in a cool '70's vinyl looking covering. So I took that Kirkey seat and some self stick glitter/foam sheets from Michael's and tried to match it. Added the shifter, harness, tach and some exhaust I got from Glenn Oswald, Thanks Glenn! The photos are of the LRW in "wheelie" mode, that is to say that these tires (#Proline Prime 2.2 dirt track tires) the wheelie bar and the added 8oz. of weight are what it took to get the front wheels up!

Looks FanDangTastic joe' !! All of the details are top notch, and that seat is just WAY TOO COOL! Your wheelie-bar makes a nice rack for those "silver ingots" .... hmmm, the weight seems kind of familiar. I like those tires too, I'll have to check into those. Can't wait to see some action shots or vid', wish I could loan you my Fat Shark for a ride along.
GREAT Job, bud', another Rolling Work of Art !!

I think Fat Shark will fit perfectly! Thanks! Took it out today, got some awesome stills, then began to take a video, and put it on its side, big time bummed. Its back in the paint shop, candies are a bitch - but so far its acceptable, like a 20 footer from the drivers side!

OUCH!!! I'm cryin' a little over here, too. Glad to hear you've got it fixed up already. Racer's code, you know .... a day at the track = a week in the shop.
You got some super shots, though. Looks AWESOME on 4 wheels .... and even BETTER on 2. Those tires seem to be hookin' up! I may have to check into those.
They're tough to steer on the wheelies, I feel your pain.
.... and I seem to remember seeing this episode already.
