Oh, that 4600/3s set up was beyond overkill, the 3800 on a decent 2s should be fun though

3s setup

same combo, but geared short, shorter than stock HPI M Chassis tires, and a 25c 2s.

Too much for me.. the guys I play with still have silver cans. Which honestly in the right scenario is probably enough.

I'm bummed I messed up ordering the ESC, but I'm sure I'll use it.

And it's not like I can play with anything right now. It's pretty cold and snowy here.

Plenty of time to start another one of your "Spare Parts Winter Builds"

So RPP is out I think my buddy got the last one so I'm pretty excited to see it when it shows up. You mentioned the "race" version awhile back...would you wait for that, or wait and see if this particular version gets stocked again? I plan to get one of them by the end of February.

I probably need to finish the other one! Ha!

The aluminum shocks in the race version almost makes it worth it to me. But I don't know if you have any other option for battery mounting but taping it in straight out of the box. I'd have to look at the manual. And I did buy the black chassis parts instead of the chrome, so that does add a bit of cost there too. I originally thought the clear plastic dampers were cheesy but in person I get it and they seem to work nicely.

I really think it's personal choice. Spec out the parts you like and go from there maybe?
Depending on what body, wheels and tires you go with, starting with a normal kit might not be bad either. In my case I asked for it as a gift, so one click ordering was a requirement.

I'll wait and see what my buddy does with his. I don't want to turn our friendly street races into a wallet war, so I'll probably try to match his car as best I can.

I actually like the clear dampers. RCBros is offering SCX shocks in clear and I'll probably grab a set just because of this build.

Yeah I already screwed that up.. but I can always throw a silver can in to bring it back in check. I figure 90% of the time I'll be using it with myself. I don't mind changing the setup for the other 10%

the stock can is enough power and fun for these things. I have probably a collection of ten of them. I also have a few old Tamiya superstock cans as well. the mod class could be with the black cans they have. plenty of punch for a "mod class"

The brushless I got has been compared to those black cans. 13t 380 sized rotor is not going to be ZOMG silly

The internals are closer to a 380 size motor in a 540 size can. If you look at those fins on the motor can it tells the story a little better.

Great video! My buddy has his almost complete, and mine showed up yesterday. It's an Ebay rig with a pink Cooper body, but that doesn't bother me. I'm just excited to start driving it!

I'll get my servo next month...not really in a rush since we're just about to kick off winter hard here in Colorado.

Thanks for all the tips and inspiration, even though you've been costing me some money lately

Sounds good to me, I almost just stuck a tactic in this, then I found that futaba and I knew it was overkill for this and probably wouldn't be used elsewhere.

and your mega truck is making me want to spend money!
