Default Rjohns Rock Rey

I decided to start my own here instead of jumping in one the generic one.

Started with tear down and added some Losi aluminum, CCBEc and a Protek 170TBL servo.

Then I went for some Powrrstroke shocks and changed the diff fluid out for 1mil front and center.

I picked up a MC 3rd member but it's not made for the RR and needed a little help to clear the larger gear.

Then it was off the JEC for some links. I love these things and use them on almost all of my stuff so why stop now?

Got it all back together and took it out for a quick run when this happened to the center diff. I guess it's common on Losi's and people replace these with xray washers. The front output tried to make a getaway and push through the washer.

Xray washers are ordered so I'll be dropping them in the front and center diff this week. I haven't decided on wheels and tires yet but the foam in the stocks is way too soft and has to go soon.

That's awsome! Can't wait to see what you do with yours. Got a few things on order right now for mine!

I have to agree that the steering is so nice with this truck.

964050. I didn't check the size of the original though. Hopefully they fit, if not I'll make them fit.

Let us know if they fit or what you did to get them to fit. I already ordered the Xray washers.

Got the washers in. Fit like a glove and felt much stronger then the Losi washers.

Sweet, my washers showed up today. Thanks for the update.

What size is the pin? Wonder if a longer one would add more insurance.

And what weight you going to run now?

A longer pin would help but it won't fit in the gear.

I filled it with Badhorsie locking grease this time around.

Pulled my center diff today, the stock washer is 0.4mm thick and the xray is 0.3mm. Wonder if its anything to worry about? I figured it was going to be the other way around on thickness.

Badhorsie in the center right now. I put 2 batteries through it and haven't had an issue with the center diff. I didn't even check the thickness. I don't worry about that stuff so much, I just put it together by feel and if it works it works. Lol

For sure. How do you like the bad horsies? Good lock up with some give? I picked up some macks silicone putty ear plugs to try.

You can fit 2 each side making it 0.6mm thick. Or I found some 5x14x0.5 steel washers to try.

Did you have a problem using 1? Mine seems to be fine.

Lol no, but figured it wouldn't hurt. I don't want to risk the same thing happening to these Xray washers like stock. But maybe the Xray washers are better material?

So how's the bad horsies?

I think it's the material. A lot of the SCTE racers have the same issue with the Losi washers. I read on their forum that some switch to the Xray washers.

The badhorsies is ok. It's not much of a diff locker so it's good as long as you don't plan on any slow crawling. I want to compare it to the 20mil but I can't for the life of me remember where I put it. Lol. As soon as I find it I will. I think I like the racers edge diff locking putty better. It's pretty much just silly putty but it gets it much closer to being locked.

Thanks for the update. Thats why Ive been waiting to buy 20m or bad horsies because I figured it was like that. I'll give this macks a try but if not I'll have to give that racer edges a try. Seems like thats what Im looking for.
