Default Project insight...

Ok yall, i need some help. Ive got a freak of rc nature project stirrin up in my head lol. I dont wanna give away exactly wat im doin yet, so i cant give a whole lot of info. Its definantly goina be 8s possible. Goina be alot of mock up n fab work. But my question is on the trans. Will a scx10 hold up to 8s? If not, wat bout a tmaxx single speed tranny? Maybe emaxx/erevo tranny? This thing is goina be a monster. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance yall

The trx4 can apparently handle 6s, check Kevin Talbot's videos

An all metal SCX10 trans might, but you'd want to add more mounting points to anything you use, especially the SCX trans

How much gearing are you looking for anyway?

I'd agree. And when I agree I mean something extremely heavy duty like a 1/8th Tekno kit. An e-Revo diff isn't going to cut it.

Thanks for the input guys. Like i said, i dont wanna give away wat im workin on. Thinkin of goin center mount tranny, just not sure which one i wanna use. Its on a 1/10 level, maybe 1/8 by time i get it all mocked up. Gearing, im not sure yet. Not a speed runner, but not quite 2nd gear crawler. Its hard to explain w/out givin anything away lol. Leanin towards at least 2200kv, maybe even 750-15??kv? If that helps any with tranny suggestions n gearing

Maybe go with the SuperShafty BombProof trans - I've heard good things. 8S is a big ask though.

I wantd to use something like the xmaxx diffs, but for the platform im workin with they wont fit. Ive thought about just runnin off a slipper setup like the p4de n sl4sh run, but idk how well that would hold up to 8s. Definantly wanna stick with 32p/mod 0.8, ive had the best luck with them.

On the tekno diffs... Wat bulks would i be able to or have to use? The ones on the the tekno wont really work for the stance im goin for.

On another note. If i go with a slipper setup with center shaft, i got a feelin ill have to set it up like portal axles at either end of the center shaft. If i go with a center shaft design, im goina add some type of support towards the center to try n limit twistin/bendin the center shaft. Thats y i was thinkin maybe a center trans instead. Then i could run driveshafts like a crawler.

only thing that can handle 8s is a locked 1/8 buggy or truggy center diff. I advise you to make your center mounts yourself our of some aluminum or find an aluminum center diff mount set with the motor mount included. maybe AE, Tekno, or TLR. the center diff being locked is another deal, id try bad horsies diff lock first.
