https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/110-m...-rally-mf-01x/ I've always had a soft spot for Tamiya, first 4 or 5 RC cars I had were all Tamiya back in the 80s.

The VW I drove shortly after I got out of the service was a square-headlight Pennsylvania-built Rabbit 4-door manual. It was my Dad's old car, I got familiar with driving stick on the empty back roads of the Texas Hill Country, some of them unpaved, in the rain - I would come back home with full rally mud stripes from cooking it in the turns... Some of the most fun I've ever had on 4 wheels! |

Me too... kit was $255, slipper was $30. Not bad. You can still use discounts on Tamiya stuff which is nice, knocked $40 off. |

$255? Hot damn! I just ordered two from Tower Hobbies. Hmm, I wonder how the Holmes 2200KV 380 "weevolver" would run in these things... |

On the tower hobbies main page if you scroll down they have a section where it shows you how much you can save. Here’s a pic. I’m part of the super saver club so I got $55.00 off my order of the Bb01 and slipper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For anyone who's wondering about the LiPO LVC missing from the Tamiya TBLE-02s, there is an easy solution that I've used with my Tamiyas. Install an LVA (low voltage alarm). They're programmable so you can set the voltage they alarm at, and they're super loud. If the car was 50 yards away from you, you'd still easily hear it. I've always run my Tamiyas on 2S LiPOs with LVAs. I have two Tamiya TBLE-02s / brushed motor combos that I plan on running in the BBXs that I bought. I'll just add LVAs to each chassis so I can use 2S LiPOs with them. |

I pre-ordered a BBX a couple of days ago on Tower, looking forward to the new buggy. A little mix if old with a mix of new, I like it!

| Re: Tamiya BBX01 I thought of that in the past and I have a few of those alarms. As I thought through it though, wouldn't a long burst at full throttle on let's say a 60% depleted battery be enough to temporarily drop the voltage to trigger the alarm prematurely?

Yeah, that unfortunately does happen. Which means for the sake of safety, you're going to waste some MAH that you would have gotten to use had your electronics been equipped with an LVC. I have an abundance of extra batteries to make up for this, so when the alarm trips (sometimes prematurely) I just throw a new one in. You can adjust the threshold to a lower voltage, minimizing that effect. I just liked how it typically alarmed when my batteries were half full, resulting in me.not needing to storage charge them. |

Gangster! I might have the two I ordered in time for my twins' birthday in April. I thought I had Xmas 2023 covered already, but apparently not. I guess I'll need to buy more RC cars then... |

Unfortunately, Tower's site now says June 2023 will be the shipping date. Hopefully it doesn't keep getting moved back. Either way, I'm just going to plan for these to be an X-mas present. Fortunately the Losi 22s SCT will make a good birthday present in April for my younger twins. |
