Default Scale crawling in WNC

Hey guys, this weekend didn't go as planned but I plan on trying to get out to Beacon Heights in the morning for a little scouting. I have a couple ideas for other crawling spots in that area as well. If everything goes well tomorrow (no rain) I hope to get a video up. I'm off every other weekend and hope to do some scale runs throughout the summer. If any body is close to Boone/Blowing Rock you are welcome to roll with me and scout some stuff.....

I'm not exactly "close" to that area, but I'm all for a road trip to check out new locations to crawl at.

I ran a little at Beacon Heights this afternoon. Had a little spring shower but it cleared up. Last time I was there I wheeled with a custom 1/12-14 scale Jeep. This time was totally different with the SCX10. Lots of good lines and didnt even tap into surrounding stuff. Got a little video that Youtube is processing... Ill get it up here asap....

I love this segment of the r/c hobby, half the fun of r/c crawling is finding the locations.

I ran beacon height hiking trail from the parking area all the way to the top with a friend today. Our scx10s were pretty evenly matched but I have to say, we ran a couple hours without hitting everything there was and it was AWESOME!!! If you are into trail running, the hiking trail has a little of everything from muddy sections to roxks to roots, ledges, drops etc. We are going back in the morning if anyone wants to join us. Planning to be there by 9 or 9:30.
