It shouldn't be the final word - we all know how much everyone wants to be there on Tuesday. When someone is missing, it's not b/c they don't want to miss American Idol or something - it's legit (job, family, etc...) You NEED an alternate form of voting.

If we are going to be efficient we should stick to a straight forward voting process. The simpler the better. If we have to start calling texting / chasing people down we elongate the process. We are already waiting a month between these votes I currently cant see a reason to drag them out further.
I will do my best to keep current issues posted and if you want to voice your thoughts ahead of time you can. We are going to try to set up a club thread so these talks are not so scattered in the future.

OK, I have been trying to come up w/ a few more options on the T Shirts.
In addition to the circular images earlier in the thread, I have 2 more that could work as a front pocket print.

Here they are:

I have also made a few options for the back as well:

Again, this Tues. will be the vote night and I hope we can get everything ironed out so we can start getting these out to folks.
If anyone else is working on a design please post it and/ or bring a print to the Boulder House This Tues!

Default Update

From the club meeting held on 5-4-10,
Comps # 2 & 3 have each been pushed back one week do to Mother's Day and Memorial Day.
The new Dates will be:

2- May 16th at Emerald Parkway
3- June 6th at Acadamy Park

We also voted on shirt designs and will get those out for print ASAP.

Finaly an informal discussion was had over membership and voting rights.
As of now it is free but is expected to change in 2011.
As far as voting we are asking that those who vote are contributing something. This could be course design, spotting , scoring/ judging general set up. Whatever you can offer to help out.

Default A Quick Note!!

It has come to my attention that at the last COC meeting we failed to address the issue of tie scores.
I have spoken with the other officers, and to deal with this we will have a "quick fix" vote prior to the next comp and then a formal vote at the neaxt COC meeting. the vote on this Sun will only affect this Sun.
Please feel free to voice any ideas and we will decide as a group after a discussion of all pros and cons before we start. Thank you.

3.3 - Tie Scores:
o
3.3.1 - Nationals Style: In the event of a tie score the competitor with the lowest score on the final course run is
considered the winner. If both competitors are also tied on the final course then the second to the last course run
will be used, and so on.

o
3.3.2 - Optional: In the event of a tie score the competitor with the lowest time on all courses will be chosen the

winner over the other competitor(s) with the same score.

only bad thing i see with either of those are that on the last comp the ties were because of courses not being completed due to running out of time. and i think a couple were possibly tied on every course. i cant remember exactly

The majority of the time we do not write the time down - we have to get into the habit of that - I'm guilty of that

You are all correct.
Like Todd said if the courses are not completed it all goes out the window.

My current stance is that if the above rules do not define the placing. we should let those who tie eacch share the points for the spot. I.E. if there is a 2 way tie for 2nd. 1st gets 20pts, the two tied for 2nd each get 19pts. the next in line who in all actuality would be 4th gets 17 then back to normal. I think real words via a discussion prior to the comp will get us all on the same page.
The rules you all have listed make sense but in our first comp we quickly found we need a more fine tuned answer.. Look forward to seeing you all this Sun.

No reason to take fault we are trying our best to get this all together and it will just take time and experience as we make the needed changes. Thanx for all of your help!

i'm down for that. sounds fair as in if its a tie than both should deserve the points for that place

I think that will make it easier for a tie in the points standings.
