| Crawling locations - Steubenville, OH
Browns Hobby Shop and Raceway is located about 15 minutes North of Steubenville, OH. There is ALSO another dam location on Rt. 7 near Brown's Hobby that is an awesome location. The rocks are bigger than Yorkville, and the Ohio shore boasts 100 yards of boulders at this dam in Stratton, OH. Brown's Hobby Shop is about 5 minutes from this other dam location, for parts and emergency items. I spoke to the owner and he said we can build a rock garden at his shop also. He already has two off road tracks and an indoor small 1/18 track. He has an outdoor area set aside, and just doesn't have the time to devote to making a rock course, but if anybody wants to help me pitch in some time and sweat, we can build one and hold events there. Plus the other dam location might be better, and there is a store and restaurant right across the road. Bathrooms and things. I live in Steubenville, I have some awesome terrain around here if anybody wants to explore some new locations with me. Thanks -Marc |

The white is hard to get to, trust me. I can take you guys there. My AX-10 won't be finished until next weekend. (Oct 6-7) We can take my 1:1 rock crawler up into the White to help us get around. The other dam (not Yorkville) North of Steubenville is easy to find. It blows Yorkville away. Its called the New Cumberland locks and dam. Come into Steubenville from 22 west from Robinson. Cross the Ohio River bridge, and get on Route 7 north. Stay on Rt 7 N for about 10-12 miles, until you see the dam on the right. You gotta park at Abdalla's Tavern on the left and walk across the highway to the the rocky bank. There is probably 200 yards of boulders lining the Ohio river bank. Its a popular fishing spot, and is awesome for crawling. Last edited by Barillms; 09-30-2007 at 12:29 AM. |
