Body looks great manny. What did you use to help hold together the dove tail once you cut into it? I really need to do that ot mine just ahve never done it before.

1/8" pop rivets are your friend

A buddy gave me his old betty, which was the Ginny-pig for this idea.

checkout the following pics of the 1st one:

recently gave this body to another crawler, so I got to make my 1st lid.

Looks good. Those rivets are a neat way to do it - and I think they add to the look

thanks guys, here are the closeup pics from today's crawlin session...

if you take your time, you can do a much cleaner job then I did:

6 rivets total, the blue betty from above used 4:

I tried using washers...but feel I was able to achieve a better fit without them:

cool looks great! you wont be dissappointed with the cougars! ill try to attempt a dovetail on my WK we'll see how it goes! but i will ask you and others, is there any other alternative to rivets? like a CA glue or something?

Goop is your friend!! I split my HPI bug body right along the one of the seams (along the top of the windows) - almost completely from front to back. I gave the thing up for dead until I ran a bead of Goop along the back of the split and VOILA its like new (almost) This was a complete split, too - not just a crack or fracture.

Goop is extremely tenacious and because its flexible, it will move with the body. Since the repair, this lid has had some nasty spills and everyhting is holding up perfectly.

Inside:

Outside:

Just my 2 cents.

checkout this other dovetail thread:
Hacked Betty

looks like a few bolts/nuts are also a really good option
