[QUOTE=rocresq;3460004]Man that body looks Soooo much better with hpi decals.[/QUOTE Ya that's what I thought also. Anybody know where you can get the decal sheet for Hpi defender separately? I searched around with no luck. So with the timayia gun metal I should be able to achieve this look. I noticed timayia also carries a smoke color. Anyone know if this is similar to gunmetal? Smoke is a transparent tint color used for like window tint. Use the tamiya gunmetal and back it with black. You can spray the gunmetal in light coats so the black darkens it up a bit.

| Re: paint id help So completely paint with light coats of gunmetal and then back with black to darken. Do I still need to use the lexan paint for black backing?

correct, you still have to use lexan paint. when you feel like you have the right amount of gunmetal then you back it with black. here is a body i did with gunmetal but i did it with a good coating of gunmetal. when you spray each layer decide if it is enough to your liking, mine was done where you cannot see the black backing but you still need to back it to make it a solid layer.
