Default FJ Cruiser body on Losi night crawler

I'm a newbie to this but I have learned a lot from reading the forum entries. I have a night crawler, and I also own a 2007 FJ, so I found a couple bodies to mount on my LNC. I have upgreade the crawler with Proline chisels, and a Hitec 7955TG steering servo. The Losi body mounts were too short so I made some with 8-32X2" machine screws wing nuts, and cap nuts. Next will be a paint job, airbrushing, and then I plan on making some steel parts for the back and front end. I have a Nikko RC also that want to mount on my LNC too.

Looks good!
Where did you get the Nikko FJ body? I'm looking all over the place and can't find one.

Thanks guys. The black body has lights front and back so iam trying to hook them up- any suggestions- can i just splice them into the lights on the night crawler? The nikko body is really more true to the actual FJ body

Why don't you try it. Or better yet, build yourself a scaler.

Im still trying to figure out what a scaler is, and have been reading in the scaler sections-do folks use crawlers to build scalers on or is there something that works better?

Just about every Axial SCX10, Dingo or Honcho is kit or rtr scaler. Change links, shocks wheels tyres etc to suit the body you want to run. Tamiya also make scalers th ad t can be stock or heavily modified. A Tamiya CC01 is often a good base for an FJ Cruiser or with more work an Scx10 based rig would be more capable.. Hope this helps

So i bought a used scx 10, and some used wraith tires and wheels ( ripsaws), and i'm getting ready to lay some paint on my nikko fj body. Going to need to figure out some body mounts, and the wheel base seems a bit long-can you change the wheel base on the scx 10? dueling FJ's

i shortened the wheelbase using the shorter links and put my stock losi tires and wheels on so i like the way it sits better now and i made a body mount for the rear-just need to measure and shorten it
