has anyone worked with their clear coat? I was hoping the green would be "more shiny" than it is- I had my wife grab some clear for it- durable high gloss topcoat- this Stang should be shinin like a diamond!!! then I have the flat black to spray the hood and truck panel with- I have my fingers crossed the painters tape doesn't mess up the gloss finish.

any help?

if sprayed properly it shouldnt need clear. should be very smooth and shiny. you have to get brave with how close you get and the amount of paint you lay down though.
there clear works great. but its kind of the same scenario.

I have to update this thread and bump this quote- after 4 coats of metalic green the paint was NOT "shiny" and kept fogging up in spots. Almost looked like it was oxidized. I have a feeling no one has used the metallic paint.

Any way what I ended up doing was taking some bare cotton swabs (grabbed from my wifes cosmetic drawer in the bathroom) and buffed the whole body to get rid of the "fog" it came right out with out much effort~ then I sprayed the body with 3 layers of the clear coat. WOW what a difference. this thing looks unbelievable now.

some pics:
after the oxidized looking stuff was gone- great even coverage, but not "shiny".

first coat of clear:

second coat of clear:

third coat of clear:

third coat different angle:

third coat inside the house- now you can see the "metallic":

again REALLY nice paint product- great spray pattern, never threw "chunks" of paint, even coats, no runs, really nice stuff.

wow, yeah my green didn't spray anything like that blue- I have been spraying bodies for 25 years (though not hard bodies) and have never had any issue like this fogging that happened with the green. oh well, its all good now and it looks HOT!
