Whats the best way to find out how to drill the holes for the body so you know its straight? When painting a hardbody do you first use primer or just paint it color?

For the holes I'd put a little bit of grease or white-out type stuff on the tip of what it's going to be mounted to then line it up where you want it and set the body on the mount. Use something that won't dry instantly so you can see where to mount it and it should be visible on the body. For painting it you should primer the go light to dark with the colors.

When I did my TF2, I used steel wool to scuff the body, then put about three coats of Tamiya primer, then three coats of the final color which was also Tamiya. I'm getting ready to do a Mojave body on a SCX 10 so I think I will follow an others lead and not drill holes in the hood but rather fashion a bracket and use Velcro. I'll be watching to see what kind of replies you get.

The TF2 yota body is too nice to have body holes. I suggest the magnet route on the underside

What do you mean magnets? Where would you put those?

| Re: hard body yota I know what he means. I'd make a plate and mount it to the front shock hoops then epoxy the magnets to it, and the underside of the body. Do it for both front and rear. I might even consider the extra strong Velcro too. I can't take credit for any of this. Many have done it.

Many people suggest bondo. Some say it may attack styrene. Make sure to back the holes with a piece of styrene before filling
