| Wood hard body attempt
After playing around with styrene projects I have decided to experiment with wood as a body building medium. I will be using scrap pieces of 1/4 in plywood that I have laying around the house. My materials will be basically free. Minus the small amount that I have in liquid nail. I began with an outer shell of the main part of the body. I really not sure what this truck is going to be. It will end up similar to an old Willys, but I am not trying to copy any one truck. That will be the next time I build a scratch body. This isles of a trial. I added in some more body support, a hood, and extra material in the corners so that I can shape the body as needed. Tonight I began my shaping and this is what I have so far. It is working better than I imagined that it would. Not perfect, but ok for a first try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It is not much heavier than the styrene bodies. I think I am done for now. Going to run it for a few comps to see how I like it. Then I will add details. It is only in primer right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Put a few more finishing details on this truck today. I really only need some lexan for the front and rear windows and it should be done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

After driving this truck for a bit I decided it was necessary to add leaf springs to the rear, which opened up a ton of space for a new bed. Here is what I came up with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This body has come a long way since my last posts. First it was painted grey. Next came two coats of orange. The orange paint was super bright and high gloss. Not a good look for an old truck. So with a little elbow grease it turned out looking like this. I then added some sliders. Just some simple bars, but they will get the job done. It was then time for some tail lights and lastly door handles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
