| Faux rivets in styrene.
If I was looking to recreate a riveted body panel for a hardbody, what would be the best way to do it? The obvious answer for me would be to dab on some hot glue or CA with a pin, but that would be incredibly painstaking and really tough to keep them in a straight line. I could use a template, but it would have to be something that wouldn't stick, obviously. I was also considering drilling holes in the panel, then running a bead of hot glue behind it, and gluing a strip on top, letting the glue push out of the holes. So thinking aloud, I guess there are a few ways to do this, but what would be the smart way to keep them in a nice, straight line? |

if you took a clean soldering iron with a sharp tip, you would light press the tip into the plastic. it would create a small indention and a rolled lip. might look like a rivet. or just paint the rivets on. |

Get a box of stick pins in the sewing section at Wal-Mart.Hold one end with pliers, heat the other end with a lighter, then insert into body. After it has cooled.snip off the back side and cover with duct tape the same color as body so it wont poke or cut you later on.Hope this helps
