Default Hardbody Window Moulding/Rubbers/Trim painting technique?

I have purchased a Rc4wd Gelande II with the Cruiser hardbody which should be arriving next week. I have never done a kit build before and have been doing a lot of reading and watching videos to learn what is involved.

I haven't been able to find out how people paint the trim/moulding/rubbers around the windows black. This seems like a key touch to give the body a realistic appearance but also seems like it would be a difficult task to accomplish.

Does anyone have any videos or suggestions on how to accomplish painting the trim around the windows on a hardbody?

I usually get some flat black and a small brush, then use a piece of paper in the mold line and slowly work my way around.

Excellent tip, the only addition I have is to use wax paper folded over to a nice sharp fold. The wax keeps the paint from soaking through the paper onto your body paint.

Blue painters tape, cut into 1/4 in strips. Makes it more flexible to get around the curves and then use a good quality brush to lay down the paint. Try to keep the number of your strokes consistent and minimal. Above all, make sure the paint you will use does not react with you body color. Hope that helps.

Sharpies work good for me gives a matte finish that resembles rubber. They also make some supper small brushes that are more like plastic tooth picks with fuzz on the end. That work good as well you can find them in the model section of hobby shops.

Tamiya masking tape. It comes in different widths and you can usually get it at your LHS. Great stuff for detail work.
