Default Re-painting a hardbody

I assume you can take a hardbody and strip the paint and re-spray it, right? I don't see why not?

- What's the best way to strip the current paint? Smooth out scratches, gashes?

- Primer needed, yes or no?

- Best paint to use on a hardbody? Tamiya, and? (any brands you can get at walmart/home depot, ect. ?)

Ive seen where alot people strip old hard bodys using brake fluid. All though Ive never done it personally. Yellow can easy off is another method Ive seen.
As far as paint choices. I would recommend going with the duplicolor line found at some auto parts places. It is lacquer based like the Tamiya paints, but a lot cheaper in the end. Ive used their self etching primer on problem parts I couldnt get other paints to stick to with great results. So yes deffinately use a primer.
A really nice feature with going with duplicolor lacquer is the fast drying time. You can prime, paint, clear in the same day.
