Depending on the design you want to make, you could probably use anything from as basic as paint or use something advanced as adobe photoshop if you know how to use it.

For printing/applying the graphics, I got a sheet of parma vinyl mask and printed out the designs on a normal inkjet printer on plain paper. Then just roughly cut it out and used a glue stick to glue it to the mask. Take your time cutting it out now and then apply it to the cleaned body.
Could have probably just printed the graphics straight onto the mask, one side is the vinyl which the ink might not like but the paper backing would probably work as long as the printer doesn't try to eat it.
thanks " parma vinyl mask

but is there a way to just print out the design on the mask ?

I don't know if you can print onto the parma vinyl, but the adhesive vinyl sign shops use for printing vehicle wraps will take inkjet printing, super flexible and easily removed, might be worth trying

I am trying to do some lettering on my raptor body, and I see that some guys have outlines to the letters. How do they mask these?
I know I can get vector for lettering, but how do I get the vector lines for the outline as well?

All I do is take a vector and throw a contour line around it, the computer does all the work. I use coreldraw, If you use adobe illustrator it's a little more complicated. If you have signlabs or flexi sign it is easy.

@Shaggy5050 is your wife happy with the Cricut machine? Would she recommend it to a beginner?

I'm looking for a good electric cutter machine. There are so many on the market that it's hard to choose. This is why I'm on the fence. And I'm looking for some advice.

How good is the Cricut is it better than the Cameo? I've been searching the net but besides hype and trash I didn't find a good enough review.

Just the other day I've read some negatives which was shocking. I've found this blog and in this post I've found some truly negative stuff. Can you confirm any of it?

Does Cricut have a horrible tech support and the if you have no internet it's useless?

Any tips will be helpful.
