Default Magnetic body mounts

Ok, so I'm very interested in switching to magnetic body mounts on my crawlers. What's you guys input on these?

Which do I need to buy?
Can I still use them even though I already have body clip holes?
Do they hold strong and not come off during roll-overs?
Or do they hold so strong, that it's a pain to get the body off and end up damaging body to get them off?
Pics would be awesome of how they mount

Company called Lee Valley. They have the earth magnets with matching cone washer sets.

Earth magnet work great and are strong but the body could or will come off during a roll over i use them on 3 of my rigs two per corner and i find Velcro works great and the body will stay on....your going to have to build some type of bracket....
I purchase mine from Hobbyking and I'm due for more..this what i used

The Lee valley magnets have a cup with a hole in the center for mounting. The magnet fits in the cup. No side to side play. Direct engagement.

How do you glue the magnet to the inside of a lexan body without messing up the paint on the inside?

Shoe Goo or E6000 won't damage the paint.

Magnetic body mounts aren't worth the trouble IMO. Been there, done that, moved on. Even with strong magnets and cups you'll constant have to be refitting or readjusting your body after rollovers.

But if you insist on trying them make sure you get a set with matching cups. Like others on this thread, I got mine from Lee Valley as seen here:
Rare-Earth Magnet, Cup & Washer Sets - Lee Valley Tools

I got part number 99K3320 for a lexan body on my Sawback.

Those aren't a great choice. You need the cups or something similar to keep the body from moving side to side or front to back with every little impact.

They will when the paint rips off with the magnet. That's what happened to me. A magnet ripped off the body which pulled the paint along with it.

I use the Lee Valley magnets, I secure them down with hot glue. I've had them pull off a few times (once from just pulling the body off, they're strong, now I slide the body to the side and pull up), I use rubbing alcohol to loosen the hot glue and pull it off then just re glue with hot glue. I thought the alcohol would affect the paint so I tried it on a spare peice of Lexan I used as test peice for paint and there was no ill affects. The body does slide around, but not a lot to where it affects anything are even looks real bad at all.

Okay so apparently they are not great because of rollovers and damaging paint? The reason I put them on is because my body mounting posts were a couple centimeters too short. The "stealth magnet" mounts I bought clip onto the body posts which reach the body shell. I haven't used it yet cuz I need to paint it but I don't want them to rip the paint off. Anyone actually think they are okay?

Oh that's what I'll do then. Makes sense if the hot glue isn't strong enough to rip the paint off.

Yeah I'm just gonna figure out the body posts cuz if you simply tip the truck over or hit the body it comes off. On top of that annoyance imagine if you had a good tumble, the body comes off and your bare chassis with battery and crap is bouncing off rocks.

I know this is an old post so I'm sorry for bumping it.

The wife and I use magnets in the front and posts in the back. it keeps the body from getting completely knocked off
