| "Laser battle-scar" point
I know...the subject probably just threw more than a few people a "curve ball"...but, I'm serious. I'm also posting this on two other forum sites, in hopes of getting more replies. Anyway, I don't know if anyone in here has tried this (especially as this is a crawler forum), but...has anyone painted (or attempted to paint) something equivalent to "laser battle scars" on a vehicle? If so, can you share some photos, and explain how you were able to create the effect? I have an idea...call it a 'theme', if you will...for 2-3 vehicles, and there are two directions I can go with it - "new", or "battle hardened". While "new" would still be good, and is far easier to accomplish, "battle hardened" seems a much better, and more realistic, approach. So, has anyone successfully attempted something like this, and, if so, how'd you do it? Again, photos would be appreciated. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place Last edited by Panther6834; 10-02-2019 at 10:43 AM. |

I haven't personally done anything like this but I would suggest looking at Adam Savages Tested Youtube channel, he does a ton of model making stuff that should help you out. He can teach you all about hiding "the crimes" lol My instinct is that you'd definitely want to paint the outside of the body for this effect. You'd probably want to use weathering techniques, just more black soot than the typical rust and dirt. Here's his model playlist, I think its not complete (there should be more) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...m824hntv8Mxy3_ |

I'll be painting the inside for the actual colors of the vehicles. Then I'd be applying the "battle scars" to the outside of the body. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |
