| Military version of Dynahead - paint/decal help
Hi I am about to build a Tamiya Dynahead and would like to paint it military style. I immediately think of Army green, but Tamiya really only makes green, I believe PS-9. It is hard to tell online if it is dark enough, or if not if there are other options out there. I am new to painting so not sure if I could back it with black if that would darken it? Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise maybe a black special ops military vehicle? Also does anyone have a good source of where to buy decals? Of course I'm looking for military type ones for my build. Thanks. |

You can use Tamiya TS paints if you prep the Lexan correctly. I have never done it myself, but I know lots of guys have. You can also look at airbrush paints or custom mix your own airbrush paints. Here are a few options that may or may not have the color you're looking for. https://usaairbrushsupply.com/t/rc-air RcAir https://parmapse.shptron.com/c/faskolor-paint-shop https://createxcolors.com/airbrush-colors/index.html |

Great thanks for the info. I see online where some people spray the underside with Tamiya PS clear flat, then spray over that with TS paint and it works. Maybe others would opine on that. I've never airbrushed but always a possibility! I am already going to spend a small fortune on this build though, so might leave that for a future body. Something to think about though. Worse comes to worse I can do it regular dark gunmetal or something with some cool US military decals. Like I said do a black ops type look or something. |

You can also try looking at other paint manufacturers to see if they have better colors. I painted a body on the outside with TS paints over two years ago and it’s still holding up. It does get scratched and chipped a little easy but nothing big. I’ll try and get a picture when I get a chance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

MCI Racing has a great Army decal set as said. Stupid question likely. The Dynahead set says the truck is 1/18 scale, so then I should also order the decals 1/18 scale correct? I have never ordered custom decals so appreciate an answer to my lack of knowledge question. | |
