So should I go for the 3-box grille and make it authentic?

And don't you just love the woodgrain?

Thanks, now I can tell my wife that mine is a collectors item. It is numbers matching and the only year with mustard trim.

Personally I like the Chevy grill better. The GMC 3-box grill looks odd to me, but then again that may be all the reason you need to do it.

77is a great year for chevy, if you got the 400 or big block? even better! 4x4? a/c? yours is very much a collectors item, check the value on NADA.com. retail was like 4k, you could sell it for 10 if its nice.

Mines got the 400 small block, Cheyenne package, and tow package with an engine oil cooler. It's 4x4, auto, a/c. I bought it from the original owner.

Let me assure you, it's not nice. But I like it, even though I like big Bronco's better.

Obijuan, thanks for the link, saved me a bunch of work

I'll just call it a '77. It's close enough.

Well, with the 3-box grille, it's a 73-74. And I put another hour and a half into it this morning, so now it's a 73-74 Jimmy and not a 73-74 Dodge Monaco

Tightened up the gap between the surround and the insert, re-shaped the lower surround, and cut back the headlight bezels so the grille surround sticks out more. I think I'm done.

Amazing idea, and a perfect execution. Great mod, i see many more done in thr future (probably alot more 4x4x4's then custom GMC's though ).

way cool, that is practically the same color combo of the 73 Blazer I had.

If I had a scanner I would post up a pic, It was a long time ago before digital cameras.

Nice build as usual, you do great work and never cease to amaze me on your attention to detail.
