Who ever builds the coursesshould keep the judges in mind. They are the ones that have to walk / climb the course all day and it does take a toll.
That being said as long as the locals DO NOT build any couses ill be happy.
Everyone has to drive the same course, whether you finish or not.

Thanks for the chance,
Farmer

Farmer knows exactly what I am talking about. He was one of the builders of the Super Shafty Course I mentioned above.

That will defiantly be part of the instructions given to the course designers.

If you guys are there you can certainly WELCOME to give input on the courses you are going to judges...that way if its a PITA to Judge you have no one else to blame.

Whats the point of putting Bonus gates on the course if no one finishes the course? Rock Decorations?

IMO a really great course trips different drivers up in different places, and produces score though out the range.

At this years ECC the Super Shafty Course fell right into that sweet spot. The Event Champ (JPBoy) got a -8.
  1. -36

  1. 32

The Course was very nicely balanced in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly Fish, the comment was not intended to concern, the course I set was not insanely hard just a couple of lines caught him out and had him fall short of the last gate. French Fred managed to drive it fine. For my mind Courses need to have an even balance of doable, challenging and fun with a dash of "holy shit I can't believe I drove up that"

This does not always pan out though once the course is set, As some gates you set thinking they look doable turn out to be less than.
My favourite U.S. course to date was the Rowdy Course at last years Nationals. Fun, fast and something most could do. The factor that divided the field was time management and who got the most bonuses. On the other hand the course near the Yellow jacket nest behind pit lane, was too hard for the majority of the field. With a large portion of drivers coming undone before reaching gate 5.

This is a tentative list of Judge Pairings the course the will be assigned to and the course builder teams.

Course Builders need to be onsite Friday to pick up supplies and area they will be assigned.

Judges for a particular course can participate in the building process and give input on their ability to effectively judge it.

Course Builders and Judges wanting to provide input need to be onsite at 5:30 am Saturday morning.

BTW....the list is shown as a standard Google/Drive doc...if you can't see it then you need to try a different device. There is an app for some Apple users

No...assuming you talking about 2.2s.

There are 60 drivers for 2.2s and 100 for 2.2P....the 40 driver difference gives us enough time to have it Friday morning

Judges:There are 3 per course, so you SHOULD be able to run your own breaks. Even with no relief judges you should be able to have 2.5 -3 hours OFF your assigned course. You guys are responsible for managing your own breaks. If something goes wrong....injury, truck needs repair, etc notify me are a Marshall so we can make the necessary adjustments.

Don't just disappear!

Judges will have wristbands that will allow them to move to the front of the line....I only ask that you guy alternate in with drivers that were previously in line.

RCP is setting up a judges zone were they will have food and drinks to keep you guys sharp.

Am I assuming that this will be the same set of judges for Friday as well or is there another list for 2.2s judges?

No its different. With 40 less drivers there is more leeway and room for on the fly adjustments. Having said that I will work on 2.2S plan this weekend.
