How could he not find rally tires?

HPI, Tamiya, Kyosho, and MRC Academy all make rally tires and most of them can be ordered by your local hobby store.

Also how was that stage rally? Stage rally racing is a chase style driving, I only saw them go down a straight and loop out on the same corner every time.

Stage rally is great, but that was not stage rally racing.

Its a good idea, not a new one, but good nonetheless. I would like to see it executed better though.

Good luck with your build, rally is some of the most fun I have ever had.

Thats what we have been doing here on a custom track it is fun!

The track:

Shot from the summer.

I shot a GRC event over the summer, the coolest thing I have ever seen, if one comes near your area, I suggest you try to make it out.
GRC Last Chance Qualifier

Rallycross sounds a hell of a lot like Dukes of Hazzard minus the storyline and a severe lack of Mopars.

got the shocks put on and it raised it a lot or so i thought at first, i was able to drop the body posts down a few spots and now the the body sits about 1/8 off the ground at full chassis compression and the wheel well gap looks like a rally car should. i have poked around rc shortcourse looking at 1/16 slash set ups since they are the same set up.

Thanks guys, glad you liked my writeup. I really prefer my car in rally guise, and so far I don't have plans to switch it back anytime soon.

Yes, that's true, but it was still a pain to get the tires I wanted. A set I ordered in June just arrived about a week ago... Not exactly the snappiest delivery I've ever experienced. I went with the Tamiya treaded tires mostly because they are so widely available. They don't wear down as quickly as knobbies do, and the fact that they are a little less grippy means traction rolls are a little less of an issue. They make a great standardized "hand out" tire as well if you want to get more people involved.

You have me there. That was not true chase driving, but rather just some long circuits we drove through those grass paths. The main reason we were not running along with the car is because it was 105 degrees that day and we were pretty wiped out... Although to be honest none of us really wanted to be caught running on film. :P

lol..Turtle correct me if I'm wrong but i just wanted to clear this up. By chase style driving he means there's more than one car on the track not you actually chasing the car. The stage rally I'm thinking of is where there's multiple timed sections and they let the cars go at certain intervals. But im a drag racer so i could be wrong.

Forgive my bashing body.

These get excellent bite. Proline made them for the mini kyosho. Here they are stretched and glued to 1.9 touring rims. ;) bet they are a perfect fit on the rallys too.

Chase style by physically following the vehicle down an A to B style stage, staggered start times between drivers, so catching drivers in front of you is a possibility.

How the WRC and Rally America events occur, there will be a certain amount of distance to cover in the day, but it is broken down into smaller sections.

Generally the courses for chase style driving are so back and fourth and twisty that a fast walk can keep you up with the vehicle. This style driving is actually a lot easier to do then single position driving and is good for you.

picked up a set of rims i really liked tonight at the Hobby Plex in Omaha

the are + 2mm offset and i need to shim the back of the hex to space it out because of the deeper hex but they fit the look that i am going for

I wish we could get better bodies for the Mini Rally...so boring to have Fiesta's.

Would rather have a Citroen DS3, the new Mini Countryman or of course some of the older cars no longer in it...especially group b cars
