| Imthatguy's DRX VE Thread So far, I'm very impressed with the size and sturdiness of the box. |

I'm thinking it might be more fun OUT of the box. |

| Re: Imthatguy's DRX VE Thread You might be on to something there. I didn't realize there was more to this hobby! I ordered it direct from Kyosho America. You can go to their website and see what I paid. Seems steep for a cardboard box, but they're really nice when you get them from the source. Not as fast as I was expecting. |

That's a really cool box you got there. Best thread ever. What body did you get? Mine won't be here until Friday, the wait is killing me. |

I'm following Turtle's lead on many of my upgrades (much thanks for your thread), his discoveries make for a very clean build. MP-9 body as an over tray, AE Chassis protective sheets, Side Guards, Couple extra sets of tires/wheels, Front/rear swaybars and a vintage Repsol Cosworth Escort body from eBay. Not the actual shell, but a very nice visual representation. I paid a stupid amount of money for the body, so that will be the video/shelfqueen body. Planning on a complete scale interior as well. Should be a fun build. Last edited by imthatguy; 10-15-2012 at 10:48 AM.

I have that body for my Kyosho Esprit GP20. Drilled holes for it for the engine though. Now that you showed me that I will definitely order this kit...haha

I love the interior idea. I was thinking of doing the same with mine. I was going to try the Short Course interior Pro-Line makes. I'm not sure if the size is right though. What are you planing on using?

Thanks! I've got the short course interior on my SC10. I'll check it tonight, but I have a feeling it would be too small for the scale of the DRX. I was planning on scratch building the entire thing with styrene and elbow grease.

We seriously need some help, the most active thread here in the new rally section, is the one where the op posts a picture of the box his car came in. Come on guys, we can do better. |

And a couple shots next to my SC10 so those of you with SC10's can get an idea of how big this car is.

Can't wait to see what you do with that Escort body. So, when you get your build done, are we going to see some video of you and Headquake racing your Escorts? |

Here's the raw Cosworth body. It's very detailed and comes with a lot of plastic bits to help flesh out the exterior. The gentleman who sold it to me on eBay was kind enough to include some very cool brake discs that can be mounted to the DRX family of wheels. These were originally for the Landmax, but they'll fit here with a few screws. Nice! I also got the Kyosho MP9 side guards installed. Great for keeping the big rocks out. Also plan to run the MP9 body shell as well as a dust cover over the top, like many others have done. As far as I'm concerned, these are essential upgrades .

I've got the sway bars as well, but haven't installed them yet. I want to see what the stock handling is like first. So here's the MP9 all trimmed out and velcroed to the MP9 side guards. I made sure to trim it in such a way that there's still a lot of airflow over the ESC. I hear that these cars have a tendency to thermal shutdown and I want to avoid that. Probably not an issue in Canada-land. I got a piece of Team Associated chassis protector slapped on the bottom as well. I'd never seen this stuff before and I can see it being used a lot from here on out on future builds.
