Default Slash into rally car?

Ok I have a seriously modified slash, it has the aluminum LCG plate chassis, 5200kv motor, MMP esc and nice shocks. I don't need another truck and I want to make this into a rally car. Granted it won't be a standard issue rally car. I want to put drift tires on it and have fun that way too. Any recommendations on this? I can post pics of what I have if there is any interest in what exactly I am working with.

Wheelbase is about 12.3" and overall outside tire width is barely under 11"

Thanks!

Thats the exact same thing the Traxxas "10th scale Rally" is anyway. Kills the look and what rally is to me, but it is very feasible to do.

However if you want to help the look you can also swap the A-arms out and use a Kyosho DRX body, it really, really helps with the scale proportions and makes it look 100% better then going with one of the Traxxas "10th scale rally" bodies.

FYI if left stock the wheelbase scales out to about 7th scale and the width about 6th scale. If a DRX bodies is used it makes the dimensions closer to all being the same scale around, 7.4th scale.

With the chassis being aluminum I can cut and reweld it if its absolutely necessary plus I should be able to shorten the driveshaft to match. What A-arms can I use to narrow it up? One thing I am wanting is to use a General Lee body on it. I just haven't found a 1/10 scale one yet.

I'm not really concerned with perfect scale really, just a fun car.

Don't think you can narrow it enough to get even close to fitting under a 1/10th dodge charger body. If you're dead set on wanting to use the slash, start cutting and hacking away...then you can buy a chassis that fits properly once you've destroyed the slash and made it unusable. I've seen far too many people try things like that only to end up so frustrated that they sell off what they can and leave the hobby entirely. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

Oh it will never be a "true" 10th scale no matter what you do. But making it "8th" scale (which is actually more like 7th) is very feasible. Traxxas has a really funny way of labeling scale, which actually makes no sense whatsoever. changing the wheelbase is not necessary with the larger scale vehicles (generally). But changing the A-arms is. Someone actually converted a slash to use a DRX body a year or so ago and did a build thread in here. I will see if I can find it.

Whether they make a General Lee in the size you need I have no idea.

I like this! Mine is the 4x4 version. The only issue I see here is mine also has upgraded steel drivelines. I guess if I am going to go to such small wheels and tires I could just pick up some stock plastic stuff for it. I'd probably just buy new arms as well, cut the old ones that are on it now and have new stuff to convert it back if I want.

Chrisshooting, I'm not finding any 1/10 dodge charger bodies, only 1/18 stuff. And I'm not going anywhere.

Then look at the 69 charger body from HPI for the T/E Maxx. Wheelbase will be close (not perfect) though I don't think you can narrow the slash to fit the wheels inside the wheel wells. If you can make it work, please put up a build thread. I would love to see how it's done....if it can be.

Yeah I have an emaxx and that length would work. I'll check into that. Thanks!
