Default Quick XV-01 Question!

I have 1 XV-01 Pro, and it drives like a champ. I also have a regular XV-01 with all kinds of hop ups, but for the life of me, I can't get it to go straight! I have a cheap Servo and Radio combo, could this be doing it? I looked at the steering, and everything looks fine, nothing bent. Has anyone else experienced this? I want to spend some money to fix this, just want to make sure I'm spending in the right direction. Thanks guys!

Servo or some kind of binding in the steering system.

If it's a cheap servo its prob not centering correctly. Hitec 645 is cheap but works great. I would start there

Eh, thats a pretty slow servo. These cars don't really need much torque, maybe 100 ounces. More importantly is the transit speed, look for something .11 or faster.

Replaced the servo, had the same problem. Swapped in a new radio, had the same problem. Guess I will just rebuild the steering linkage.

What was in it before and what did you swap in? Did you check the steering linkage without a servo attached to see if it moved freely? What ESC are you running? Do you have a BEC?

Im kinda thinking the tie rods that attach to the front knuckles are binding on the chassis. Mine did this as well, which caused the steering to pop and bind a little. If that is the case it is a very easy fix.

I went from a cheap futaba servo to a cheap one made by a local company, but got the identical problem, then I swapped in my radio from my brother's vaterra, and again got the same problem, so I bet you're right about the front knuckles, I'll take it apart and see what I can do, tryna get these running for this weekend!
