the problem with the tt01 is that it is a 190mm chassis and the hpi body is 200mm , the tamiya focus wheels are 0 offset so i need a way to move them out. After a little searching on the web i came across this Vintage Tamiya Radio Control Cars through to Modern Tamiya R/C - Showroom Page it explains the different axle shafts you can use to widen it out |

These 1/10 TC conversions are a dime a dozen back in the day. AE actually made a rally kit conversion for the TC3. Ebay may still have some. A good platform for tub TCs would be shaft driven and defiantly some sort of gear cover like the Tb-03 or tb-03r and just get slightly taller shocks and mess with oil and spring for ride height. TL-01 or cc-01 are also easy conversions depending what you're after and won't break the bank! The tt-01 is terrible in terms of weight distribution, limited steering adjustments despite even running cvd's and modding the c hubs. I don't know about the tt-02 but I'd imagine similar......or you could go for df-03ra or XV-01 or XV-01 pro....rally is the new thing after gymkhana took off. Doubt it will last too long. Look what happened to HPI's true scale Mini Trophy Desert Trucks. I'm building one as we speak snagged a chassis and some arms cheap off ebay and some bodies. Rally is fun but 1/8 rally cars are a lot more durable. Even the junk hpi wr8 isn't that bad with the right suspension adjustments. |

Why did the conversation shift to talking about the TC3 when the OP was describing work done on a TT-01? And the WR8 is quite a capable car. I should know, I own one.

I bought a TT-01 back in the day to do this same conversion with but it never happened because my wife got me a WR8. Even so keep up the good work, I enjoy the kits I worked the hardest on so fill your boots. Star
