Carpools...

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

We're looking at a daily 140 mile round trip drive (2hr 40min) from the event "metro hotel" to the comp site and back. Three days of events total 420 miles of driving (8 hrs.). Early start times...ouch.

To the international guys this is just a first world problem no doubt."thumbsup"

Sounds about right, although the size of the site, gorgeous rock, and ease of location securing with the city make logandale a hot ticket.
All the locals love this site over most of local (10min drive) spots.

That is correct. Between camping and the two hotels in Logandale, there shouldn't be anybody forced to stay at the casino. I will be renting an RV and staying in the off road park.

Why not stay in Overton? My commute says 7.6 miles, 20 min.

Mesquite sounded tempting because I know its cheap and has cheap food. I just dont think I am up for that 40 min drive. 1hr 20min from Vegas sounds crazy to me!

Anyway... North Shore Inn sounds like a winner to me!

I've got to locate something like Erik has or I know I'll blow it. I'm not a morning guy. 7.6 miles sounds about perfect. I'm no camper.

I'm a local so the drive it normal to me.
So if anyone wants to follow me out each day we can work it.

Sounds like the spots in Logandale or Overton would be your best bet. I wouldn't want to drive an hour each morning either, but some folks may find priority staying at a casino

Reservation in Overton already made. The queen is on the phone now. Lol. 7 miles vs Vegas which I've seen a few times is a no brainer.

And Erik's info is right. the dude at the hotel was rad. We found that it was cheaper to combine flight and hotel on the strip and then book the North Shore in additionally. Which will be a great excuse after the comp to go back to the strip and spend a little time being goofy

Yep. Thanks man. Just a few min away and the hotel looks pretty good. I just have to get 3 motors pulled, sent off for rebuild and I should be good. Getting to meet you, Erik D and see the Canadian crew will be awesome. These events are way more than driving for me. My wife travels with and hangs out. It's fun stuff.

Maybe we can schedule our " family photo" for Saturday? As usual, Sunday isn't looking realistic. It's not totally out but one of us will have to work early Monday.

Good stuff! This should be a blast. I'm trying to head there Thursday to see what kind of rock it is. I've hiked in red rock 5-6 years ago but that was long before RC and debating over tire choices. Look forward to seeing you all!

How much more rigid do you want? Do we ever change the basic layout at comps? Everything after the normal classes is bonus anyway...

Rigid as in what time anything takes place? When is the finals being ran? I guess NENC raises the bar to high?? The most organized event I have seen thus far! Battlegrounds is right there with them.

For those of us spending $1000+, booking flights, renting cars and getting hotel rooms it would be nice to see a little more information. I know exactly how much effort putting on a worlds event takes and understand but we are inside 2 months and there has been very little information aside from a few posts spread out here and there.

This is not a little get together, there are guys flying in from all over the US, Europe, Japan, etc. This is Worlds and needs to be treated that way.

That being said, I will be there and I am down to have a ton of fun. "thumbsup"

Maybe I have faith in John Holmes or maybe after all the events I've been too I realized that it's not the 1 or 2 guys Hosting the comp that pull it off. It's the community of people always willing and wanting to have a blast that seems to pay multiple times over.
Just my 2cents.....

While there are valid points from M and BC, the laid back sides point is valid. The coordinator doesn't set the schedules as much as we do. If we get there, get shit set up and say " come on, finials are today", people will move and make it happen. M and BC know I'm one of the guys that are making a pretty big hike for this and contending isn't my every comp routine to be gentle on myself. I just want to see a mellow environment and happy people once this jumps off. I've messaged John 2 times this week about motor service with no reply so I know he's busy and I have to believe it's with this. We know the dates, we know the location, we will be good. And yes, Jslick does know how to put on an event and have it go well. Lol. I'm bias tho:).

Unless it is my direct email it is turned off or blocked so I can focus on engineering and production. If you are looking for service, calling or emailing my business directly will get you immediate service.

My days are split between the lathe and getting Worlds buttoned up, so you are right that it is what I'm busy with!
