Default 1st Comp Rig - Bully RTR

First off thanks to RC4WD for putting out a product that gets those on the fence about getting into these crawlers an option that isn't horribly costly or time consuming. And also a thanks to all of the knowledgeable people in this forum along with the ECRCC crew that have given great advice to a newcomer!
Here is my rig from start until now and there is plenty more in the works for the fun of it and the hopes to complete a comp course haha
Pics soon after getting the rig but cleaned up the wires but there were still a ton of wires:

Then I went to a local ECRCC comp after painting some panels, changing the esc for a cheap hobbywing which worked better than the outcry, cut some pins, added rc4wd extenders and mounted shocks/links on what others did on RCC. Oh heh and cleaned up wires again:

Then I got home after not completing any courses but was happy enough with my true first runs other than climbing children's toys. I learned a ton more and will be getting back to work on it. Started by adding the 2nd hobbywing esc to run dual on the cheap to learn and hacking my GT3C which was fun. I also painted the side panels now. Installed CI foams (DD6comp cut softnarrow front - DD5.5med narrow rear) and installed promodeler 420oz servo. Also cleaned up some wires again and placed my steering link on top of the knuckles. I'm waiting on a castle bec and 2661 shocks with losi springs and dlux standoffs plus no preload retainers..... Think that's all for the moment.

Good idea and a run vid would be a first for me but worth a shot. Currently have esc's on the chassis (middle and front) but couldn't decade these because they are covered in some dust/waterproof solid gel. Probably could've tried harder but might've broke them. Dialed in the GT3C some tonight and happy with the controls but I'm not hard to please haha I'll try to get some under the hood pics. The 2 esc's weigh about 2-5 grams more than the esc that comes with it but far from light compared to de-cased esc's. At some point I'll smash micros or go for HH smash.

Yes you did and I took a look when they came but doesn't seem I have an option (only settings are fwd/br/rev, fwd/br, fwd/rev then lipo/nimh), $20 only gets you so much haha on another note I've done some 3' 65-75degree downhill without flipping over and also stopping half way down but at a very slow pace with 20/80 dig on a pretty high traction surface. Going to try and get it out on some rocks this weekend for a real test.

Thanks, planned on airbrushing but it didn't work so used what I had lying around. Might be in need of a few decals, thinking about it but might just keep it simple. Decisions, decisions, decisions.....

The additions you have made to the rig over the past week will make a big difference and then some nice shocks and you'll be in good shape! Great to meet you last week, keep going to comps and you'll be amazed at how much you learn and how much better your driving will be. I still learn something at every comp I attend!! Thanks again for taking pics last week, they look awesome especially the ones of my truck!!

Ok so I've done a couple more updates and took it out for a spin this morning and it feels like it has improved and the dual esc is a really nice feature even with them falling into the cheaper variety. Here are a few pics of the updates and my mess of a workstation:

Had to modify Barry's batt/electronics tray

Out with the stocks and in with the big bores

What a mess!

Cap modded the front shocks

Used DLUX no preload retainers all around and his shock ends on the rear

Cut down the chassis a bit.

Went with 35 front and 50 rear, don't have a ton of options on hand. Other eta I had were 25 and 30

Actually doing the red(med) in front and orange(hard) out back. Still seems to have plenty of flex but not super soft. Can always switch them out to test in the future.

Cool, I do have the pinks just in case but looking up a few other build threads I noticed some reds and orange being used. Think ceej also has that in his build thread. Hope you'll like them, I do!

Nice build you got going here, you might want to invest in some knuckle weights. This will help out a lot.

Thanks and I have some rc4wd on backorder from tower with tower bucks so I'm happily waiting and they even moved the month from November until late this month, woohoo! I'm thinking and researching the many other ways to add to it too, sooo many ideas
