Default Using the r3 transmission on an scx10?

Okay since I don't have the tf 2 yet...I was just wondering if the 2 speed r3 transmission is usable with the scx10? I really like the 2 speed idea... And I want my scx10 to have that option as well when I get my tf2.

Thanks guys!

is the R3 transmission not durable? I don't beat on my scalers as much...I just want the option of having two speed.... that way when I get my TF2, I'll both have 2 speed for both

dont know why it wouldnt work... probly have to build your own mounts but you'll also need a transfer case as well. From what I have read the Summit trans is the way to go on a SCX10. I have a Summit and the trans has been super reliable and tough even with 40 series 'slingers on it so it should be bullet proof in a Honch...

Just about anything can be made to go in anything else within rc crawlers. Hell it started out as a locked 2wd tranny and a pair of axles. The r3 can be made to fit as long as you take into account the need for a shift servo and tcase.

The summit trans is monstrous, in good and bad ways. I have one with a tekin pro4 motor on some scx framerails with some wraith axles and its tough that's for sure. Even shifting while throttling out of trouble hasn't caused a hiccup. But... It is huge with weight up high, lack of gc in certain situations and occasionally needs a rebuild to keep it shifting. Fun nonetheless

Although looking forward to seeing the r3's separately, they seem to be holding up with the kits that are out there now.
