Default Stripped threads!

I was attaching the linkage to the transmission and the little aluminum round piece on the end of the shifting shaft that you attach the servo linkage to is stripped

I must of went in at a funny angle and cross threaded it

I was able to save to day, I ended up putting a slightly larger screw in with some lock-tight and so far it is holding.

I hope some spare parts are available soon Awesome build and kit!

Here is what I have so far

Helicoils are good to have around for M3.
$$$ at $75, but nice when you are in a jam.
M3 kit, comes in 3 lengths.
SS, so they don't rust.

Lol Grumpster...this just happened to me last night!

Looking at the collar I must have cross threaded it too! I'm assuming I just take off one of the e clips to remove the stripped collar and replace it with the upgrade part and reattach the e clip?

That's how it works. I about went cross eyed getting the e clip off.

have a stripped thread on the axles holding the leaf springs, upon inspection the other hole was bigger than the others. Wondered why when i put the screw it just dropped into the hole!

Yup one of the things I dislike about the TF2 kit is how weak the material is for screws and certain parts on it compared to Axial stock parts. I guess a good tip they should state before assembly is to be careful not to overtighten the parts! I bet I have a rounded out screw somewhere on the chassis lol.

Broke my E-clip it came off in two pieces I had some spares in my tool box so it was not an issue. The upgraded part works like a champ. Why didn't RC4WD include this in the kit in the first place is beyond me.

Because you're not gonna pay shipping on just a $5 part. You're gonna get more stuff to offset shipping costs.
My opinion, and opinions are like buttholes.

same here while building the kit one of the m3 holes for the transfer case cross member stripped. almost like there wasnt enough threads to catch the screw? so im going to try a longer screw and if that doesnt worki will just drill out the hole and the chassis and cross member and tap it for a larger screw.

Where do I get parts? Clutch pads are not forever, especially when you use exacto to "texture" flywheel... And it still slips!!!
