Talking A frankenstein TF2... by Colby

This was on my RC bucket list for 2012, so as soon as salmonfacesalad offered me this smokin deal I picked it up

Obviously... I am missing out on some of the TF2 features. I'll have to look into the kickass Tcase/2 speed trans option when it becomes available. For now its just an SCX skid plate weaseled into the chassis with an axial trans. (Simplicity, my friends)

I also tossed on a set of SCX shocks I had layin around. They make for sweet absorbers with 35wt oil

I have never owned a set of yota axles, but I will say these look great! The steering is awesome and getting at the ring/pinion gear is easy.

I also picked up the 1.55 landy wheels with 1.55 Iroks. These tires are awesome, and the wheels look great!

I have a body purchased for this rig... but dont really know if ill use it. I thought of a toyota body, noones done one of those before.

For electronics, im using an FXR, castle BEC, 35t integy, on 3 cell. (So you can all shove your 2 speed )

As far as mods, I've chino'd the leafs and I guess salmon tossed on that SCX brace on the front.

Ive run my rig a few times outside, not very hard or anything since its missing an essential part to a scale rig... but I hate the flex, I hate my driveshaft angle, and I love how smooth it is... Gotta start somewhere right?

Heres some pictures of my frankenstein:

Will be enlisting the help of my good buddy ScaleReady who built my Willys for me. I have a 3racing winch, so whatever I build will have a nice set of bumpers, and metal rock sliders

It will start to flex much better once you get some weight on there

That's what I figured Im sure steel bumpers sliders and a swing out tire carrier will add some weight.

I know, I was going to do an LR3 on the top of this TF2 but I think the FJ takes the cake by a long shot

Rewired, I like the murdered wiring alot more

Made some front shock mounts to hold me over until I get shock hoops. I needed a little more travel out of my absorbers.

Got a little more flex. Im sure it will be loose as a goose when some steel gets added.

and then...... fawking drive shafts...

Well they dont sell the TF2 transmission seperate I will probably just use their planetary with the disruptor or something. It will fit perfectly between the rails.

I got tired of wishing everything I put in my trail finder chassis(transmission wise) would run like my old scaler with stampede tranny so I put stampede tranny in finder chassis. Love it, the range of usable rpm is great...
