Default RC4WD Z-S0027 Gear set

I wrecked my output shafts on my axles (long story) and bought replacements and these arrived Z-S0027 Yota 1/10 Axle Ring & Pinion Gears. They were a tad smaller and I assume that makes them faster? Anyways after putting the truck back together it's a bit speedier now not a bad thing but was just wondering if this is the stock part or a upgrade? (waiting for a reply for RC4WD via email)

"This is a stock replacement ring and pinion gears for Yota Axle (Part # Z-A0074, Z-A0075,Z-A0058,Z-A0061,Z-A0059,Z-A0036)"

thats what rc4wd web site says so im guessing its just the one size fits all applications for replacement parts?

The only difference is they are slightly smaller in size and the output shafts are not flat on both sides and the stock grub screws do not go all the way through the shaft like the stock ones

Why does it have to be flat on both sides? If your grub screw doesn't fit drill it out to make it fit or find a different screw.

Huh? No one said it had to be flat, and drilling it out would weaken it. I assume you do not have this gear set?

You mentioned they weren't flat on both sides so it seemed like it was an issue to you.

anyways .....

On another topic if you guys have not checked the screws on the axle I would give them a once over with your allen wrench. A few on the axle housing and pumpkin were only finger tight.

So far so good on the replacement gears

Looked to me the same type of material as the stock ones.
