Looks like a little more material around the screws wouldn't hurt a thing..

WOW. Normally I'd say, this is a scale truck, not a mud boggin' blown big block, but you wouldn't think you could just snap one like that, even running brushless.

Were you missing the lower screw or did you remove it after the carnage? If you didn't remove it, it should have still been in the rod, like the upper one. That could have contributed (just spitballin' here). You seem to be pretty tough on your rig, but unless there was a missing bolt, I'm guessing it was defective.

2s 21.5t. PM'd them. They said they wouldn't give me a free one since it was bought used (which Im cool with, granted the trucks been out for only a few months) but its a pain to get a hold of them as far as wait time is concerned. I I'd like to get my 400$ truck back and running in a reasonable amount of time......

Oh man :( I dont even want to know how much that part is.

Maybe make some kind of brace for the right side from the tranny to the chassis if it doesnt have one?

Honestly Im not gonna think alot since its just a plate that bolts to the transmission and allows you to move the motor around. I may see if I can get my friend to tig it back together for me until RC4WD gets back to me. Either that or make one.

Make one out of some aluminum? use the broken piece as a template. Sorry to hear they wont replace it.

Any thoughts on the missing bolt? If it fell out, I'd wager that is your root cause when compounded with the brushless motor. You're distributing stress in an unequal manner.

Not sure? Ill go with it fell out of the sake of arguement tho. I'd be willing to be if this had a nice brace between the motor mount and the transmission it would never be an issue.

Also 8 hours and no e-mail reply yet RC4wd? What gives.

I'm willing to bet you're the only one so far with this issue, so a brace is an answer to a question that no one's asking

I think if button head screws instead of countersunk were used it would leave substantially more material

I agree that would be important if you were planning on running 3 screws instead of four

I Gotcha but if it wasnt there after the failure, and you didn't remove it yourself, I'd say it backed out.

Looks like a flaw in their design to me. There should be more material there and I am not seeing a reason why there could not be either.

Mines cracked right there. Took a nasty spill down a hill into creek to do it though...
