| Stripped front axle housing question.
My front axle housing is stripped where the steering knuckles screw on. The axle housing is on back order And I have a competition next weekend. Does anyone have a fix without replacing the axle? I have tried red lock tight before but it doesn't hold. I thought about installing american screws and drilling out the bushings but I figured I would post here first.

Paul that's pretty much what I did. I drilled and tapped the housing for an m4 bh screw and drilled the knuckle slightly oversize from the screw. Was just gonna be a quick and dirty fix, but it's held up good enough that I haven't even bothered ordering a replacement.

Helicoil. A kit should be <$20 on amazon. You want the shortest inserts they make IIRC they're labeled as 0.5 length. Take your time. Use RED threadlock on the helicoil. It will be stronger than the stock axle. |

I want to thank everyone for their input and tips. I ended up drilling it out to 4mm and it feels good.
