Default Mojave vs Marlin rear shocks.

I've not been pleased with the articulation on my Marlin. It has the chino mod, but no o-rings yet.

I did notice that the rear shocks seem to be limiting things a bit.

Some quick checking shows hat my Mojave came with 100mm rear shocks and the Marlin only 80mm shocks.

Has anyone switched to 100mm rears on their Marlins and noticed a difference?

Meh it's leaf springs, only so much you can do, besides I drive mine differently than any of my other rigs. It's for the joy of the smaller tires, detailed hard body and leaf springs less flexing.

I played with the RTR silver 70mm shocks, 80mm white Marlins, and 90mm silvers. At the rear (using stock rear 90mm shocks), I moved the top mount outboard one more hole (all the way out) to obtain the travel that I want and increase damping more. I'm not sure the new Marlin shocks would clear the frame rails in this position because they are a couple millimeters larger diameter. Rear suspension and shock travel is perfect this way for now.

I was thinking the same., but worried that longer shocks would no longer look scale. Do have much time on leafs? Small helper leafs removed? My marlin is really loose and flexes as much as it can with stock shocks.
I believe I moved my shocks in one hole on cross bar but had to put a larger spacers on top and bottoms (moving shock rearward) so on compression the shock doesn’t hit the leaf.

Also.., all springs out of shocks? I found with the original iroks, the Marlin was unstoppable! I’ve gone down to small 1.55 rock beasts which look more scale, and also make it much more challenging.
Here’s part 2 of 3 videos I did with the original iroks. Think it’s my favourite part...

I’ll be releasing another vid with the 1.55 rock beasts any day now;)

Thanks guys, the internal springs have been removed. I've got a set of 'soft' leaf packs that are going on it soon, and I'm thinking I'll try 90s at the same time.

Yep, first thing I modded was removing all internal shock springs, installing o-rings in one that had missing/incorrect size ring jammed inside, and adding 3000wt diff fluid. Running full standard leafs and flexes quite well.
