I've barely done any mods to my RS10, but I've not had it a week yet and I'm still learning about crawling. The only thing I've done so far is cut the body a bit and have a new battery on the way.

The wiring change you guys did...what kind of benefit do you get from it?

I've thought about trying the wiring mod, but since I'm new to r/c I don't wanna mess anything up.

It makes a great difference. Take the plunge and do it. The battery upgrade is also a must. You will have fun with it then.

What is a good battery upgrade? I added the m3 flat irons and used the stock redcat foams. I added 6oz of weight to each front tire and 3oz to rear. I cut the grill and the rear section out. I lowered the body 2" and it looks much better.

Look for a small Lipo pack, something in the 1500 mAh range.

I tested with a 6 cell 2/3A pack and an 8 cell of the same flavor in the stock location. Both made improvements. The lipo as Dez stated is the battery of choice.

In the stock location you can get a pretty healthy lipo in there. Easy button says to measure the battery tray and buy what will fit.

My Mod guy Crawlin4fun is making new chassis plates for it and will be in the vendor section eventually.

Our first test will be a TXT like trim off the bottom of the stock chassis. We think this will fix the high centering issue although limit battery selection due to making that area smaller.

I will update this thread when we get some pics done.

So this really does help with the power issue huh. Has anyone mounted the batteries on the front axle then cutting of the battery tray off to gain more clearance?

Does any one have any instructions on mounting 550 motors in these axles?

I have been thinking about the wiring change to compensate for the lack of power - I could see how removing the battery tray would allow for more clearance, but I wonder about the chassis stiffness and if it would cause even more torque twist.

Can't answer the 540 thing but mine is still running on stock gears and motors are doing fine.

My greatest fear initially was the cases holding up. So far so good.

To date my mods are:
2S lipo mounted in the stock location.
Adjusted wheelbase
New body
Rewired speed control to adjust stall
Swapped to my DX3R radio system
Proline wheels
Left over rovers (whites) with memory foams
Replaced most of the hardware that started to show rust
Replaced upper links with longer ones
Upper link triangulated on the center of the axle spaced 1/4" from center

Crawls close to the same lines and sidehills just shy of my 2.2 bully with lightweight axles. Bully wins cause it has dig front and rear and alot lwer gearing and more weight and so on and so on...

Summary; Bully is better comp truck. RS10 cheaper and great sportsman rig if your club alows factory dual motor trucks like this and the duratrax.

i am just learing about the whole crawling world but the best mod i have done so far is putting a 5000mah battery on the front axle, i also left the stock battery in to help the cog, i also removed the foam from the tires which has helped alot in crawling i do need to order new tires but these do for now. next thing i want to do is order the banebots, any good places to order them?
thanks guys!
