I know theres a couple running a 2S 20C without issues. But your best best would be get a star and watch the classified section and pick up a used Rooster Crawler ESC or something similar. RC4WD has a good ESC for cheap too.

I hooked mine up to my 3 cell 11.1 and it ran like a champ.I'm going to add a BEC and lipo cutoff to do it safely.I had an half an hour on the 11.1 and nothing fried

Default receiver

Did you check the voltage running to your receiver on 11.1?

Isnt a rooster crawler esc only rated to hold a 2s Lipo? I would also like to run a 3s Lipo so interested in ideas.

Yep, it's only rated for a 2s lipo. There are people who use 3s on it, but if you chance it you should be prepared for the ESC to not survive. You might have great luck and it work fine, then again you might kill the ESC right away, it's a gamble.

i've been running 3s on my rooster and love it. No boom yet and it's got some good miles on it. This is probably a myth as I've never heard from all those who run 3s that theirs actually fried.

It certainly could be a myth. I've seen plenty of people on here who use 3s on the rooster crawlers. I probably would too if I had that setup, but I do like to point out to folks if things are only rated for a certain voltage. I can see someone frying an ESC, then getting pissed because someone told them it could handle more.

I ran 3s on my stock esc for a few months with a low volt buzzer. Fan runs too fast so you'll have to modify the power supply for that but the esc held up. The receiver still only got 4.8 volts, so it won't help your servos any, but gives you soooo much more power.

Yes it will work but for how long is the million dollar ? And I think rooster makes a 2s and 3s esc seperatly.

So far my stock esc is holding up to the 3S the fan on it only lasted 30 seconds so i have taken that of and run it without and it seems to be only warm not hot at all after a constant battering and a hole 2200 pack the motors on the other hand are getting hot once its been stalled to much as expected with that many volts. I will upgrade when i have the cash still.
