Your best bet would be to look through the moa sections, see how they're setting their stuff up. You'll probably find many using Traxxas shocks.

my rig weighs 5.6 lbs

went to the comp at fake dams saturday and had a great time came in last but a great time it has givin me insight as to what i need to my rig to make it better

i have come up with a list to start with
..................(fine tuning the list will happen as i go)

1.new single motor esc
2.punk dig unit for moa
3.smaller battery's (1000mh maybe)
4. smaller pinion in one axle
5.shorter shocks
6. maybe bigger motors (but i do like the stockers on 3s)
7.skinner rims
8.tighter turning (dig will help with that)
9.more drive time for me

clod stall and my un-experience driving killed me Saturday but i will be back better then ever

You did just as well as I did at my first comp.

More drive time and a few things sorted out, you'll be doing well.

That's not bad at all for a first comp...nice driving! Those little 370 motors really work well don't they. My RS10 is 3 years old now and I still mess with it...I think the axles are really nice for the money. I have a Bully based rig that I comp now but I'm thinking about a new RS10 build for my kid to learn on.

ya alot of peps are going to the 540 motors but i really like the stockers and they have a good amount of kick running 3s lipos on them

but i will be adding metal gears and stuff next

i really like the feel on the rs10 axles it flows good!

Are you using the stock ESC on 3S lipos? I still have all the original gears in mine...after 3 years, they're still in near show room condition, I'm not sure if it's worth it to go to metal gears.
I think the RS10 axles are way, way under rated

i am running outcry esc with a novak lipo cut off for now. it works great.

and ya they are under rated. i was just thinking of the metal gears just to be safe. don't wont one to blow out while in a comp

I hear you, I like to be safe too when it comes to comps. But I must say, the RS10 stock plastic gears are very beefy compaired to other rc plastic gears I've seen...I think they're made of acetal (Delrin is an acetal based product but I don't think they're Delrin brand because it's very pricey stuff...but stand alone acetal is really strong stuff, too)

time to start this winter re-build

it is now in pieces

check and grease all gears first

in-case someone wants to know what the guts look like

this will be a slow but nice re-build

top choice is duel ESC'S or DIG..........i am leaning to DIG

this will be fun re-build front to back (lo-buck as always)
