Default ESC fan

I removed the fan from the esc for some clearance issues I was having, will this burn up the esc if I contiue to use it? I'm using 7.2 and 8.4 nimh batteries. My jeep rs10 scaler is coming along good and will post some pics soon.

It depends. Some are pretty stout and others are kinda weak. The fan quit working on my daughters and the esc started smoking, I shut it off and turned it back on and it was was still working until my daghter told me it doesn't go backwards.
So now I'm waiting on a new Outcry esc that should be here Monday.
Oh and its running a 7.2 Nimh pack as well.

Alot of other esc don't have fans. But I'm not sure of the efficiency of you the stock heat sink. The heat sinks on mine are a lot bigger then the stockers.

Yea the heat sink isn't that big, I did run a 7.2 pack today and everything is fine. The weather is cool today so as long as it holds up when the weather warms up I'll be good to go!
