| Body Mount Question
Hello fellow crawler fanatics. I am realitivly new to crawlers and am really enjoying my Redcat Rockslide RS10 XT. However, I am becoming a bit bored with the body style. After doing some searches and not really finding the answers I was looking for, I came across the following product. Now my question is, will these new mounts allow me to install various bodies? For instance, would I be able to put, say, a Traxxas body on it? Thanks in advance for any information you might have. Happy Crawlin' Wizard |

The Stock body mount are very brittle. I replaced mine with hot glue sticks. Just cut them to length, drilled some holes in them and mounted them instead of the stock pegs. Body makes a much better crash helmet now. Don't think those RCT - P012 mounts are necessary. I'm sure there are better alternatives. You can mount any 1/10 scale or similar Lexan body. You just ream some holes in the body where you want the mounts to attach the body. For lexan body work there are special tools you can get - a reamer for the body mount holes and some scissor like trimmers. You can just use a drill and scissors too. Hard bodies (generally for scale look) require a bit more thought since they are going to vary a lot and generally you don't want to make random holes in them. My glue stick idea might work but I haven't really looked in to hard bodies. |

Thanks for the quick reply AutoCrawler. So what you're saying is just leave the stock mounts where they are, and make holes in a different body (through the sides)?

It will work for many Lexan bodies. You might need longer posts if the body is wider. My Glue Stick idea will work but you can buy flexible posts. Mounts & Accessories : Crawford Performance Engineering |

What i did was cut an old bumper mount off a rampage into little extensions. Used long bolt to attach, gets the posts or farther. Also if anyone breaks one you can also use a long billy like 40mm and screw right though the works, get ya out of a jam!
