have to ask this - is the battery fully charged? have you checked the battery
to make sure you have full voltage as in no bad cells?

you have a serious case of 'clod stall'

Battery charged. When the car is off and I spin the front wheels, there is no resistance.

do the front wheels spin very freely?
check the pinion, maybe it has come loose. you should feel some resistance when
spinning the wheels.

probably sheared the pin(RCT-H018 ) in the diff, or it spun and tore up the plate(RCT-P005) behind it. See diagram at bottom left of page Rockslide10

that is a good picture to save, has the part numbers and shows how everything fits together

good one gman, good call on what might be wrong too.

What's sad is that you can't buy just that plate by itself. You have to buy the whole spur gear assembly RCT-T006 or a set of gears RCT-P005

No one makes an aluminum replacement either.

I'll bet I have at least 6 spare spur gear sets I bought to use the plate before I got pissed off and made my own.

we have been using needle bearings from a u joint we had laying around . ours happens to be for a truck or something so we have to cut needle bearing to length and drill out center shaft not a big deal takes longer to get to than to fab. i suspect we will start tearing up the plast ic next but hasnt happened yet.
we tried using hub pins but they were just as week.

No. There is a little resistance, but not like it should be.

have you opened up the housing yet?

either the pin/backing plate as gman suggested or the pinion.

sometimes you can find complete axle with motor on ebay though right now they only have them
without motors but at 25 to 30 each.

Ok , I just got a rs-10 for my son opened up the box this morning , charged it up and he played with it when he got home from school for about 10 minutes before the front wheels stopped turning . You can give it throttle and see the motor is spinning but the wheels don't ... Could this be the drive pins ? wnat are he chances I tore the other parts mentioned as well?

could be several things. the pin is the most likely but there is a chance that the motor might be
loose enough to have disengaged from the first gear.
easy to check, just pull the cover and see if the gears turn when you apply power.

cannot stress enough to check all screws on any vehicle.
