Question Gen7 Springs too Stiff?

I have nothing to compare my Gen7's coil springs to other than my son's E10 (which is considerably softer) but I can't help but feel that the Gen7 is a wee bit too stiffly sprung. Anyone else feel the same or am I off base?

Just seems like it's a bit stiff legged when driving around and a bit resistant to articulate.

I already removed the shocks to make sure there was no suspension binding elsewhere; there is not.

Have you tried using the upper shock mounts that move them closer to center? That will make them effectively softer and gain a smidge of articulation. Worth a shot.

I used the rear top holes in the front mount, and the front top holes in the back. Rubs like crazy, so I did a little *ahem* surgery to the bumper and front fenders. Seem a like the middle holes are a happy medium though.

Not sure if the Sport and the Pro use the same springs (spring rate) or not. I've got the Pro and the rate is okay, maybe not great but the Pro is quite a bit heavier than the Sport. The Sport might need a softer spring rate than the Pro.

I did what you suggested. Nice improvement. Maybe perfect actually. Haven't truly gotten to try it yet but seems nice and compliant around the house and more willing to flex.

Thanks for the idea; sometimes I just need someone to point out the simple stuff right in front of my face.

Our SCX10 guys like to use Losi mini T springs, available in my different spring rate from super hard to super soft. While I am not sure whether these springs could use on your gen7?

I’m not 100% sure what this means. I think I do... can you post a photo of what change you made?

If you turn the body post around, you get shock mount holes that are farther forward. This allows you to lay the shocks down slightly, which makes them softer.

I demonstrate it in this video here:

I put TRX-4 springs on mine, they are a little softer and it is about perfect now. I have the Pro.
