| If the Gen8 were 1:1...
... I'm guessing it'd have 10"-12" of lift and the tires would be 40s or 42s. I get it - these get compared, reviewed, tested... and it's got to do well up against the Traxxas, Axial, etc. But, I'm not going to compete with anyone or anything other than rocks. I'm thinking I'd like to get it closer to 6"-8" and 38s. How difficult would it be to drop the Gen8 down a bit? And, what would you guys recommend for a smaller tire - a BFG AT or MT would be ideal? considering the gen8 is 1/8th scale a 38 inch tire works out to 4.75 soooo the stock tires are in your range im guessing it dosent have much lift.ether with those fenders hacked up as bad as they are its probably only running 4-6 scale inches of lift as some one who owns a scout 2 1:1 with 4 inches of lift i would say its pretty scale my 1:1 would fit 38s if i cut the fenders.back to match the gen8 i just wish the body wasent so wide the scouts were little trucks compaired to other full sized trucks the issue with running a smaller tire is the wheel well openings are made for a bigger tire so it looks funny |

ferp420 that makes sense - when using the 1/8 math... not 1/10. I've got some Scout Rallye wheels (Traxxas Blazer shhhh) on the way. Swapping those for the shiny chrome wheels will help with the vintage/real look. And you're right - the wheel openings would look wrong with a smaller tire. I even opened the fronts a bit more - trying to fix the odd-shaped flares... Last edited by No2Mud; 05-08-2020 at 07:11 AM. |

I ran 1.9 deep woods for a while (love the grip), but they just don't look as good as 2.2s. Decided to try a set of Injora for $40. They're better than stock for grip, but not quite as good as the Duratrax. I feel like the larger wheels look more proportional with the big body. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Just ordered a Gen 8 Axe today and also going to order some 2.2’s , may I ask how you go about figuring offset for the wheel hubs ? Appears everything is a 2 pc design ? New to this obviously 🤦*♂️

I didn't need any. Tires fit fine and still half covered by fenders. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Truck looks great , that’s the look I’m going after , I guess any of the 2.2 wheels will work with no issues ?

My Injoras are 130mm (5.1"). I did reposition the shock top mounts inward. They're in the top most holes just to keep the cg low. I wouldn't go any larger than that though, because while you could drop the shocks down to lower holes, you'll probably start rubbing the wheel wells too much. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Here's a friend's scout with about the specs you listed. Scouts aren't at big as a blazer or full size bronco irl. |

Nice! Who would put smaller wheels on a rock crawler anyways? It just looks right. And capable/badass! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

I put some Blazer wheels on the Scout... hard to tell them from the O.E. Ralley wheels. |
