Default Redcat marksman

Just came across this on the redcat site. Looks to be a wendigo with a new body (looks pretty cool) and a 1080/holmes crawlmaster setup. Anybody else see this? Not sure why it's so much more than a wendigo (there prices seem to be going way up after the sixty4 release)

So I guess they're marketing this as a 1/8 scale crawler. I haven't had the chance to check out the Wendigo yet, but It's cool to see them continue to build out their offering and offer decent electronics in their RTRs.

Would be cool if this is headed in the direction that Cragsman covers with their 1/8 scale rigs.

Nifty idea with the body being painted green on the outside, and a rusty primer on the inside to make it more realistic as it gets scratched up.

Arrma(?) did this with some bashers in the past, black outside, silver/gunmetal inside.

I think they are paying attention to the hobby, but I gotta say the body details are the worst aspect - overly simplistic, crap bumpers and stickers for most of the lights.

By far the best idea is using the HH motor and a HW 1080 ESC WITH the programming box!

Jeepster is a sweet body. Different strokes for different folks I guess

Nothin' wrong with a Jeepster - but they shouldn't rely on featureless bodywork plus a decal for turn signals/brakelights.

Aftermarket 3-d printed detail bits can resolve most of the issues, as would a replacement set of metal bumpers.

I believe OSRC ...... chiming in, in 3. 2. 1. Has a wendigo, and from my crappy recollection said something like the steering for the axles is terrible for a crawler.

Looks like a Gen8 chassis without portals. Yeah steering will suck and I hate the steering link. Why do they still mount the 2 ends on a plastic rod end. I've broken to many in the past. If redcat were to come up with a better (durable) plastic, I'd be interested. I've owned several cats since the beginning but only for a short time.

axial used to do that too it sucked big toe then too and it still sucks big toe

i think they could have come up a better idea to carry over from axial to the cats then that horable steering link setup

Body looked better at first glance, the more I look at it the worse it gets lol. Still can't see why the price went up so much more than the wendigo really, "cheaper" (but better imo) electronics, not much else changed but the body/tires. Just can't justify the price. Could get a wendigo kit, 1080 and crawlmaster and a servo and be under 350 bux...
