so im using some 22ga sheet metal for a front bumper for the honcho and was in canadian tire today and made a quick decision to use the same material as a deck and wheel wells for my trailer. the material is a little pricey IMO but its clean with no rust or anything and is weldable. once this trailer is done i have an idea on another one, it will be similiar to dinky's trailers but with vertical stakes on the side and use it as a firewood and car hauler trailer. here's a couple of pics. got lots of ideas just need to get motivated to do them new to me work table.. a little small but its better than what i had.. also added a chunk of painted plywood for a cutting board. |

got the decking all trimmed up and the rust gone from the frame. now to get the holes in the frame plugged, tack the decking down and make fenders. haha forgot the pics lol with the honcho loaded up. dont have another rig yet so the honcho will tow the trailer. it looks a little "big" but its meant to haul a 2.2 cpm crawler. next trailer will be one 1.9 flatirons and tandem axle. Nice trailers guys !! Here is my first attempt at a trailer for hitting the trails with. A couple shots on the bench. And a few action shots on the trails So what do you think? I'm making A tarp to cover the top, and I'm waiting for my shackles to finish leaf springs correctly. |

That's one beefy trailer! Love your off road trailer too. What did you use for a hitch and wiring for your lights?

Thanks. The hitch is dinky RC, I used the original red LED's from the back of my SCX , just lengthened the wires and battery plugs from a micro T to make the plug at the back of the truck. |

It's all made out of styrene. Made ribs to make walls thicker . Frame is aluminum.

Now I know I didn't build this trailer but it is an awesome trailer and it was built by Dinky RC. He did a fantastic job and I finally got some pics of it outside hooked up. I can't wait to get my other cars out of storage and get the whole setup together. |

I just got finished building myself a car hauler for the Cherokee Chief's mini me. It is made from 1/4" and 3/16" brake line tubing silver soldered together. And here it is. I even had to make a trailer hitch for the tow vehicle. I made it having a removable receiver. It slides in between the frame rails like so. And is held in place by the tail light cross-member. Here is the hitch and ball ready for coupling. Coupled together. Hooked up to the Comanche Tow Rig. Loaded with the Cherokee Chief's Mini Me. Loaded up with the Tube Buggie I made. Darren |
