I didn't do a suspension since it was my first trailer, however I'll attempt it on my next one.

I have a question tho... what are you doing for making axles? I'm gonna build a camping one to drag behind my Honcho, and was hoping to use stock honcho wheels/tires. So, spindles and hubs... how do ya do it? ;)

here's my tandem crawlerhauler. Built with 1/2inch angle, some expanded metal, a couple of peices of old transmission cooler line and 2 peices of treaded rod with nuts to hold the tires on. tows very well.

That's a cool trailer build. What are you using for the axle?

Stephenxj > How well do the leaf springs work without shackles? Seems like it would be a little stiff.

So I come up with the following ...

Cut and filed some hubs to some 7mm in diameter, cut a brakeline tube 10x1mm and found some 850 bearings and bushings:

Perfect fit "thumbsup" I pressed in the bearing and two bushings. Don't forget to put in the hubs before pressing in the bearings/bushings on the other side of the brakeline.

I had to come up with a leafspring mount, so I did use some TLT suspension mounts that I cut and filed to fit the 10mm brakeline

On the other side I did use a Bruiser leafspring mount. I know the screws are to long but this is just for mock-up and to see how it all go's ...

I'll guess I have to build a trailer arround it now :mrgreen: Lot's of you are using styreen. Will it stand the abuse ?

After having seen all those beautiful trailers, I've decide to post mine. I've got a lot of detail photo's which I won't place until some-one askes me for them; there are too many.

The total length of the trailer is 90 cm (don't know the size in inches), the driving plates are 60 cm and the total width is 35 cm. For those that are good in arithmetic, work it out for yourself, I'm too lazy. :)
Got it mounted with leafsprings, but I'm thinking it's ridiculously high. I've got another way of mounting the wheels, and wil see how they stand up to driving once the weather clears up around here (in Holland).

Ive mounted lights coming from a 9v battery mounted in a box right at the back of the trailer with an on/off switch. In that box I can place all sorts of things like chains and stuff.
On the front is a box which can be opened and closed with a lock. On the other side is a jerrycan for fuel and a small jerrycan containing real water. All which I had to make myself as I couldn't find anything in a scale of 1:7 1:8, which the trailer is.
The wheel on the front can be put away horizontally.

The idea is to put it behind my Traxxas E-MAXX, but I've got to try and work out how in heavens name I'm going to make a trailer hitch.

Added a gas cylinder to my trailer. I used one of those compressed air cylinders that bicyclists use to pump up their tyres. The black tube is the negative wire cut off an old e-savage motor. I think i lookspretty good for 10 minutes work!

I have searched and googled for the dimensions of one the bantam military trailers so I can build one to scale and for the life of me I cant seem to find what I need,can anyone help a fella out?

This is what I want to build but no dimensions to be found just a ton of pictures.I know there are bantams built on here so if you could help with some measurements I would appreciate it..."thumbsup"

I started mock up today,the real one will be done in brass frame and thick styrene bed,still have lots to finish on it though.Its just sitting on the axles ,no leafs yet or fenders.

This size would be better suited for a jeep.

Haha, coincedence. I did the same combo on wheels and tires for now, hummer rims and Wrangler (?) tires.
