i think as long as you dont run the typical axle mounted servo setup its all good. i respectfully disagree with the comment that a cms is worthy of more scale points than a transfer case for the reasons given, but im not going to try and debate it and irk the shit out of everybody. especially since it seems like im the only one who thinks it should get awarded more points anyway. |

i feel about a skid mounted motor/trans the same as an axle mounted servo, its an easy solution thats not very scale and nets a arguable performance advantage. its just not as obvious as seeing a black box on top of an axle. i honestly think a transfer case is one of the more scale things you can do to a scale build. you might not see it from the outside, but it emulates a fullsize in its layout and also the weight distribution and cog. and it just simply puts the motor where it should be... (for most 1:1's anyway) so, fwiw, thats my reasoning for thinking a transfer case should get the same point value as cms.

Thats why I'm building a mid engine rig to go with that skid mounted tranny and motor. I didn't lay my tranny down so I could keep it more scale looking on the inside. From the outside, it looks like a transfer case. I'm trying to keep scale in mind 1st.

lookat all c3 rigs.. and if you build a cheater rig.. who the f*ck cares.. if your into scale just to win then run..your a pathetic person out for rc glory... i like to compete my scale trucks against those guys and beat them.. i just built a new c3 truck and im not changing it... if it doesnt fall into the rules.. so be it..i built it to be a real style rig i would see here in washington...i wont say im a PNW rc addict but i am..heres my real style rig so take a look and you be the judge all my class rigs.. all my rigs look scale in pics to the right person.. i think that the people in charge will make it right for all of us... |
